What is your next step?

I don't know really what my next step is.  I would love to improve myself as an actor, and pursue bigger things but I am happy where I am too.

Number of years Modeling and Acting?

I have been acting for 20 years in TV commercials.  I have been modeling for 30 years.

Favorite trainer and why?

Marty Jonason is my favorite trainer.  We had so much fun; I learned so much during the years I studied under him.  He's an exceptional talent.

Best acting experience to date and why?

My best acting experience was when I did a national commercial for a vacuum cleaner company.  It was like being on a movie set, complete with my own make-up artist, wardrobe person and personal assistant.  I even had my own trailer!

What do you like most about acting?

I like working with creative people.  It's fun to watch them.

What drew you to this industry?

I started acting in high school productions.  My senior year, the advisor for the one-act play requested I and another student audition for a 2-person script, "Where Have All The Lightening Bugs Gone". We took 1st place at districts and I was hooked on acting professionally at that point.

What do you think is the most important quality to be successful as a actor and why?

You need to be smart.  You need to be able to think ahead of the game.  Having your lines memorized and being where you need to be, when you need to be there may seem like simple things, but a talent unable to perform as expected, will not often be called back for a second chance.

Seek the training, be prepared, and have fun!

I have been modeling for the Academie for almost 6 years and loving every minute of it.

Favorite trainer and why?

I do not think it is fair to name a favorite trainer because everyone I have worked with or trained with has helped me grow.  There is something about Stacey that stands out in my mind.  It's the way she is driven and knows what she wants and goes for it.  Over the years she has taught me a lot and I have the utmost respect for her.

Best modeling experience to date and why?

A couple of years back I was Tony the Tiger in Minneapolis for a weekend at the kids fair.  I loved how the kids faces lit up when they saw Tony the Tiger.

What do you like most about modeling?

The experience, every job is different you learn something new each time.  With every job you also learn something about yourself and continue to grow as a model, talent and person.

What drew you to this industry?

"Curiosity"  I am the only girl out of four.  I already know how to be one of the guys.  I've always wanted to be one of the girls.  If I happened to make a name for myself and become a good talent along the way I would be thankful for that also.

Being humble and inquisitive any time you get a call from the Academie.  You never know what is in store for you.  Always be willing to learn and try new things.

Be flexible and thankful for every opportunity you are given.  Have fun with it!

Distinguished Model

BreAnne Brucker

INTERVIEW WITH BREANNE:

What is your occupation?  If you are a student what are you studying and when do you plan to be finished?

Right now, I am working part time at Hornbacher's as a Cashier.  It's not the most interesting job in the world, but it pays the bills!

Number of years Modeling?

I have been modeling for about three and half years and it has been the best experience I've ever had!

Favorite trainer and why?

I loved working with James Pentaudi.  He is such a talented and intelligent individual and knows a great deal about modeling/acting industry.  He taught me a lot about modeling that has helped me.  James is also very down to earth and treats you as as individual with a goal than just a person with a far-fetched dream.

Best Modeling experience to date and why?

I really enjoyed going to Orlando, FL for the AMTC seminar about 3 years ago.  This really gave me a chance to see what the the industry is all about and what I could expect going into it.  It opened many doors that could lead to potential modeling jobs.  The only downfall was that I was a lot younger at the time and the opportunities that came up didn't coincide will with my age and the fact that I was still in high school.

What do you like most about modeling?

I enjoy modeling, because its something that I have always dreamed of doing.  It is so much fun yet is so much hard work.  I think that you get out of modeling however much you put into it.  I enjoy the fact that when people who want to model see me doing what I love to do, that many may cause them to go for it and work hard and accomplish their dream of someday being a model.

What drew you to this industry?

The main thing that drew me to this industry would have to be the fact that I have always wanted to model.  Ever since I was a little girl, I would look at magazines and imagine that I could be in there someday.  I decided to take a chance and go for it, and being Model of the Quarter is where it got me:)

What do you think is the most important quality to be successful as a model and why?

The most important quality in my opinion is confidence.  If you dont have confidence in yourself, then other people won't either.  You can accomplish anything that you put your mind to, you just need perseverance and determination.

What advice would you give to someone who would like to become a model?

If it has been your dream to be a model, then I say go for it.  you have nothing to lose if you just take a chance and try.  I'm sure that some of the most known models in the world never thought they would make it as far as they have.  You may never know what you can become if you don't at least make an attempt to test your potential.  Hope for the best but prepare for the worst is the best quote to live by.

What has been your strongest asset in this industry?  What do you see as something that really helps you succeed?

My strongest asset would have to be determination.  I think the fact that I know what I want, and would work so hard to achieve it are great qualities to have.  You need to have a deep passion for modeling and work hard to reach your dreams.

What is your next step?

My next step is to finish college then to hopefully move to a larger city and see how far I can go with modeling and also my field of study.  You only live once so you might as well give it a try.  The worst that can happen is you could fall flat on your face, but that would only make you a stronger person.

What is your ultimate dream?

My ultimate dream is to sign a contract with a world-renowned modeling agency.  This would show all of my friends and family who know I have had this dream that you can accomplish anything that you put your mind to.  You can never give up...

Distinguished Actor

Dayna Del Val

INTERVIEW WITH DAYNA:

How many years have you been acting?

I did my first play, The Sound of Music, when I was six years old—so a long time!

What has been your most difficult roll to perform? Why?

I played Lee in Marvin’s Room at NDSU a few years ago. She is a very difficult, angry person, and she has very bad relationships with her sons. I struggled to play her because I it was hard to have the audience not like me.

What advice would you give to someone who would like to become an actor?

Be prepared to feel overlooked a lot of the time. As a tall, red-head, if the casting people want a short blond, then it doesn’t really matter how talented I may be…I am not going to get the job.

What has been your strongest asset in the industry?

I think my unusual look has helped me out a lot. I also think my education has proven to be invaluable.

What is your ultimate dream?

To win an Oscar.

Distinguished Model

Chris Lee

INTERVIEW WITH CHRIS

Number of Years Modeling?

I have been with the Agencie since 2002 after going to the AMTC Convention in South Carolina.

Favorite trainer and why?

My favorite trainer was James Pentaudi. He was fun to work with, and made everything exciting. His professionalism seminar taught me a lot of valuable information.

Best Modeling experience to date?

I love doing the Bridal shows but I think the best experience I had was the American Crew Hair Show. I don't know off the top of my head who that person was who cut my hair, but he did a great job. It is not very often I let someone just cut my hair the way they needed to. We also had a lot of the same interests, so we were able to have a great conversation about theatre. It made my experience much more personable.

What do you think is the most important quality to be successful as a model and why?

Respect I think is the most important quality. You have to respect the clients, the agencie, the other models and yourself. If you don’t respect them you will most likely not get selected to work for them again, they will find someone that would be more beneficial for them to work with.

What advice would you give to someone who would like to become a model?

Have fun with what you do and take care of yourself. Don’t expect everything to land at your doorstep. It takes time and patience to be a model. Always try your best and if you mess up don’t dwell on it, you will learn from your mistakes.
